That, I am glad to hear. I was wondering if you would like to have a couple drinks with myself and my daughter. It would be like the old days, except she is quite a bit older.
( It's after Ana has had a long conversation with Jack that she contacts Reinhardt again, confirming the location and ensuring that he is free that day.
She perhaps should have left it for another day, given that what she learned from Jack was not the easiest to swallow, but when has Ana Amari ever done things easily?
So, with their time and location set, Ana heads out to meet him. The thought of seeing her friend again, though she knows it won't be quite the same reunion for him, is pleasing -- she has missed him over the years.
She manages not to get too turned around, finding a table as she waits for him )
[And here's Reinhardt. Barreling into the space, like it's any other day. He's... had some time to adjust to all of this. He's still angry with Jack. Concerned for Fareeha. And... probably needs to say some things to Ana. Because she'd known.]
[But something's different about this. Ana acting as if she were uncertain of the TAB network. As if she had something to be cautious about.]
[It's telling him this... may not be the same sort of meeting as he was expecting. Like when Genji's brother mysteriously reappeared.]
[Still though, when he sees her, it's with a smile, and a little incline of his head.]
So, the mysterious text messenger was you. I should have known, eh?
( The smile comes easily when Ana sees, or perhaps first hears Reinhardt coming towards her. It would be difficult to miss him, and it's funny to rediscover all of the things you have noticed, and missed, about friends.
There's a nod at his comment, and Ana stands from the table to greet him )
It seems I could not keep myself hidden for too long.
( The situation was different here, with them thrown together. At home, with her dead and the others scattered, keeping hidden had been easier. Ana could have done it here, but she'd learned from Jack how much the situation was different -- they all already knew about her anyway )
But you know that already.
( She'll at least acknowledge it, even if she doesn't remember it )
[As she stands, he steps forward, with hands outstretched to greet her. Whether she accepts a handshake or an embrace or just his hand on hers, that's up to Ana to decide.]
[Even if, for him, it's only been days, it still feels like ages since last he met with her. Last he saw her.]
Not from me, I fear. Did you enjoy my acting? I have been practicing.
[No, he hasn't. But he can make a joke or two, even now. As his expression softens, curious and concerned.]
( It's the embrace that Ana chooses, resting first her hands on his arms before stepping in closer. It reminds Ana even more just how long it has been, and it's a heavy thought. How had he taken the news, would they have had such a reunion before? Or even at home?
They're not questions that Ana will ask, focusing on this conversation instead, and more pleasant thoughts. His joke brings a smile, and stepping back from the embrace Ana gives a small nod, sitting down again before beginning )
I have been home and brought back again. ( It doesn't feel that for her, but for what he knows, for what they others know that's the truth of it ) I do not remember being here before, but I have been informed.
( There's no guesses as to who she spoke to. She lets her words sit for a few seconds before adding: )
I had hoped two old friends could just talk.
( But she will understand if he has something he needs to discuss, or be displeased at her for first -- she'll also answer it )
[He's happy to accept the embrace. More than happy. It's been too long. Far too long. Especially from her. When he'd seen Ana previously, it had been brief. Not face to face, save for the first time.]
[It's not a long embrace, but it's emphatic. Tight. He lets her slip away, sitting across from her like no time at all has passed since last they saw one another. Though their matching eye injuries say otherwise.]
Ahhh, I see. That happens sometimes. Do not worry too much for it. If anyone will hold it against you, they are in the wrong.
[On that, at least, he's utterly sure. Before he nods, sobering.]
( Though it isn't this that Ana is concerned that anyone will hold her against but rather what she'd done, or said before. Truthfully they should still hold her accountable -- having the memories taken from her isn't an excuse when she still did it, and would do it again )
Perhaps you can remind me of a few things. Things that you enjoy, or do here. Things I may also.
( He's already given her one in this lovely little shop, and given that Reinhardt had said that he did like it here she'd like to hear more about it )
[Like Fareeha. Though he can't blame her. Ana is her family, her mother. This is far more personal for her than it is for him. Even if he can forgive, it may be that she can't yet.]
[He nods, but gestures to the table.]
Could I buy you some tea first? For old time's sake?
[It's always good to see her. No matter the circumstances.]
